Born To Believe

I had a painful phone conversation with a dear freind in recent days. She's heavy with hurt. Her heart is hurt and unsure which direction God's will is taking.  We conversed over what is the right thing to do. Where is the line drawn? It weighed both of our  hearts. I wanted to reach through the phone line and hug her. I am sure she felt the same for me. I told her how our lives are entwined, I wanted to lift her burdens and solve the problem, but, of course, I couldn't. So I listened, reminding her as well as myself  of God's  Unending Love.

Are you feeling overwhelmed today? Discouraged by the complicated challenges you face? Perhaps you have a friend who is nursing emotional wounds.Perhaps there is a mountain that stands in the way.
There are so many hurting hearts in this world. So many burdens being carried by souls weary of the task. So many people desperate for a miracle from God. Desperate for healing and hope.
Most feel time is not on their side.
My Granny once said "That a day upright was a day filled with hope". I am upright, until God decides to change that fact.I must keep the Faith.
"So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees. Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong."  Hebrews 12:12-13
These are the words of truth I will cling to, when I fear what comes next,
when I wonder if I can move to the next level.
I am responsible for my behavior, my will is not God's plan for my life.

God knew we would struggle with difficulties of the world.
In His Word, He lovingly points us to Hope.
"So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God's Spirit when he adopted you as his own children.*
Now we call him, Abba, Father.
* For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God's children. Romans 8 15-16. ( Living Bible )

Desperate times call for a desperate faith.
As Christians, we have faith in a person - God.
Faith in and of itself is meaningless, but faith in an all-seeing, all-knowing, all-powerful God means everything ... because He is the same yesterday, today, and forever
. Faith is the core of our lives. It is essential to pleasing God.

He wants us to trust Him in every trial and through every trouble.
"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." (Hebrews 11:6, NIV)

Are you desperate for a miracle today? Is the declining economy, the burden of debt, or soaring unemployment rate affecting you or someone you love?
Are you feeling out of control?
Perhaps you bear the pain of a broken marriage, broken dreams, or a broken body.
If you are desperate for healing, help, and hope, ask the Lord to increase your faith today, and make a determined choice to trust Him. When you do,
He will meet you at your need and carry the load of your burdens for you.

A Reminder from The late Dr. Adrian Rogers "You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

BITTER OR NOT

BITTERNESS
is the tool of Satan.

Examine the traits that deliver you back into the hands of self destruction.
Drugs, alcohol, food; you name the demon, that is an accelerant for the fire.
Joseph chose not to be bitter, but to allow his circumstances to make him better.
Rather than give his brothers the punishment they deserved, he said, "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives" (Genesis 50:20).
And with God's help, we can do the same.

Resist  growing bitter, choose to be better!
Think on the words to this poem found in John Cook's book, The Book of Positive Quotations.
The Hard Way
For every hill I've had to climb,
For every stone that bruised my feet,
For all the blood and sweat and grime,
For blinding storms and burning heat,
My heart sings but a grateful song-
These were the things that made me strong.

Peter writes that bitterness can keep us from being effective in ministry (Acts 8:22-24).
Paul warns us that having a "root of bitterness" can grow up and "defile many" (Hebrews 12:15).
James tell us that bitterness is from the devil (James 3:14-15).

Bitterness in our hearts will produce bitterness in our actions.
The only way to be free of bitterness is to let go of past offenses and refuse to collect them.
Collect stamps, shells, or even purple crayons ( my fav).
But don't collect grudges.
There's not enough storage space in your soul to bear the load.
Grudges just tumble out every time the door to your mouth is opened.

We are sinful creatures living in a fallen world and it is only by the grace
of God that we can be a blessing to anyone.
The only way to be better rather than bitter
is to extend the same grace to others that God extended to us through
Jesus Christ

The key to writing a beautiful life story is to have a pencil with a good eraser or so I have been told.

I choose to let the struggles of life make me better and not bitter.  I will look for the good in every difficult situation and think the best of others. I know that a bitter heart produces bitter fruit. I refuse to allow my heart to get caught in that trap. I will forgive and seek forgiveness for the trangressions in my heart.
Lord give me this favor.
