Oh Happy Day

Hello Everybody. Well this has been a Glorious day.

I pray that all is well!

Bob wants everyone to know that the pantry is low on non parishable food again .We could use regular donations. He gave The Vine this word on Thursday. The Vine has not received any word other wise. I believe that we will need to come with a plan on how to keep the pantry stocked. Let's pray about it . Listen closely to what the Lord has to say about this matter. This is something that can not wait, to many people depend on us.


Wednesday night we learned about the Life Groups. We heard testimonies from Wanda Mitchell and Shelly Weddel. They both have had very positive experiences. David has laid out a One month plan for the preparation of these classes.
August 31 st will be the sign in time for the Groups. 5.30 there will be a All Welcome Dinner for the kick off of the Group Studies. The Vine encourages everyone to get involved. Invite others from different churches. This is about Glorifying God. The dinner will be in the Education building.
A Rally will follow and the sign in will be finalized at that time. Although it would never be to late to join one of the groups. Get involved , that is how we Connect the Vine.


Also on the 31st will be the All Sing. This will be the big Fireworks that will end the day.
The praise team , the gospel group along with other various performers are working tireless to ensure that this will be the best All Sing in Gateway Community Church history, Wow! That is a big statement . But God is a big God and Gateway is all about Glorifying God.
There will be songs everyone has heard .Songs that you have not. Songs you will say I Love that song. The Vine has been told that the children church is going to perform and hoping the K through 3rd grade will do a little something for the Joy of the Lord.
If you miss this one YOU will be missing a Hugh Blessing.
Bring anyone that needs a blessing. That includes you.


Gateway is still believing that 3 more couples ( not just Married) will come forward to teach the 2,3,and 4 year old. We have 5 pairs of teacher signed up so far. The Davidsons, The Riddles, The Weddels , Lindsey L and Georgia R. and Dixie Mc and Connie S. With 3 more sets of teachers, we will volunteer once every 2 months. There will also be a volunteer to help if the number of children begins to rise. Which it will. Gateway must have a plan in place for the explosion of young that are flocking to us. Linda Lawrence has a curriculum for this age group. We will be teaching these children and planting seeds that will grow beyond our wildest dreams.

The Vine is waiting for the date of the Women's Ministry meeting. Assured that it is going to happening soon. In the mean time document all of your ideas for the ministry. All women are invited. Service is the true Spirit of Christ Love.

Some of the ideas that are already being tossed around are:

Newsletter, missions, seminars, outreach , trips, meals to the shut ins and you get the idea.. Granbury get ready

The Women of Gateway are about to take this playing field to entirely new level.

I can hardly wait to make a difference.



August 16th is the BIgggg Water Olympics. Folks this is a no brainier. The Children's miniseries have been working like lumber jacks on this. Planning every detail preparing. Nursery though Youth will involved.
Mrs. Linda has called for a meeting Wednesday night at 7.00 pm

Even if you do not have a kiddo in this please come an attend.

There will be enough work for everyone.

Registration will begin at 8.45 am and the games begin at 9.00am untill High noon.

SACK LUNCH AND PLENTY OF Water WILL BE SERVED

We need to attend the Wed night meeting.

The question was possed If I do not attend your church can I still volunteer? The answer is YES!!!

Gateway also had a surprise party for David and Nancy. Their 50th wedding anniversary. Really they have been together for 60 if you count dating in high school. It was a very sweet party.

David and Nancy are very much in Love and it garners hope for the rest of us. There was enough food to feed well ; Gateway Church. Recipes were flying. The BARBQ was from the Cajun restaurant off the square. I t was great. The side dishes were plentful, and the well the desserts were the best.

Tamatha brought a cake in honor of the occasion. David got a little wild while feeding Nancy her cake. Why do men always think it is funny to get cake all over you.

There needs to be a Life Class on that subject.

Anyway a money tree was loaded with 5, 10s and 20s. A table full of presents.

Children to remind us of our youth . Laughter to remind us to enjoy.

Love filled the halls to remind us that Christ is the true light and

Love is the greatest commandment.
