REFLECTION

Reflection: Is not just what you see in the mirror. Do we reflect who we truly are?

Jesus went from town to town , spreading the NEWS of the Kingdom of God . Jesus was the true reflection of the will of the Father. So Prue that light shown from his clothes. One could just touch the hem of his robe and be healed. What a true reflection Jesus is !

As CC taught from the pulpit Sunday: One day we will Love one another with out reservation. Are we the true reflection of the Love of Christ?

Do we reflect what we believe? Who we really are?

Do we reflect the Love Christ has for us?

A side note: My birthday was Monday and the entire family came for supper. It is quite the crowd these days. We started out with just the boys, now there are 11 total. Moreover, we are a lively group. As many of you have had personal experience.

I looked away and my sons became Men. It is amazing and mind boggling.

As I sat back
and watched Monday night, I saw my family. They are a true reflection of the past.

The essence of the presents and the hope for the future .
One day I will be the past . My children will reflect, they will see me in their children. A resemblance of my hands or a look on their face will remind them of me. They will see the future in the eyes of their Grandchildren, then a true reflection of the love there is for them will shine.

Allrighty Then : Let's reflect on the week and talk about what has been :

Happening, what is going on and what will be Happening.

Joanne has reminded us that the Christmas Drama is right a round the corner. JoAnne will have a meeting Sunday after Church. It will be in the sanitary, about 30 minutes the Vine is told. There are many things that YOU can do in the Drama besides act. Build sets , paint, sew . You do not even have to be a member of Gateway to participate. Last year the Drama was a big success and this year will be even better.

David also is gearing up for the Christmas Choir. Once again, all of the community is invited to be apart of the choir. You can contact David a t the Gateway office 817-579-0509.

The Vine was informed by the office (Bob) if you have an event , baby shower, wedding or special occassion, get it on the books. The Church is becoming more and more busy. The earlier you call the more likely the day will not be taken. This is a good thing. This means

God is filling our church.

Away to Go: Thank You Josh Riddle. The tent was a big hit. It seams to come in real handy.
It is not a small job to set the tent up and Gateway Thanks You and appreciates all our hard work. Along with Wyatt. according to him, he and CC put the tent up. Wyatt is 3 and seams to have taken a liking to CC. But then who does not l like CC?

The Vine has also be informed that in the near future Gateway will have a clean up day. Not just on the outside. Nooks, crannies and so on needs some detail cleaning. The hard to reach areas. I am sure that all will attend. If we all pitch in it will not take long to have it all a shinning.

The water Olympics were a B I G success. The children had a barrel of fun. Jesus was the theme of the day . Thanks to all the volunteers Jesus remained the focus. Music games watermelon, hot dogs , cookies what more could you ask for. Well let the Vine be the first to say A TOWEL.
That is what most of us needed.
There were grown men hiding around corners armed with tiny little water balloons. When the balloons hit there targets one would become soaked. Does any one how many water balloons were actually bought, filled and thrown.

It could be a Genis word record. Is there someone we could call about that?
A SIDE NOTE : ONE (me) could just be walking by, minding ones (me) own business and out from nowhere be shot in the back, yes in the back with a water gun. This is wrong on so many different levels. You know who you are and so do I.

The Vine is thankfull that Gateway has a Therapist available. This could take a long time to recover from ( just kidding ) .

It is All Sing Time: August 31st 7.00 pm . Gateway has a fantastic evening planned. There will be songs you have heard before and songs you have not. The Gospel group have been planning, practicing for 7 weeks . The youth is performing a drama written by JoAnne King. The children ministry will revise the Sticks performance (Easter) , the K-3rd will preform a song from the VBS. This song brought tears to the eyes of everyone.

Several solos and the praise band will sing. Monty, Danny, Heather, Judy and Joanne will preform the song Eternal. This is a love song to God. It is beautiful . Do not miss this one Gateway. Come out and show your support for all the performers. Everyone has been working very hard to ensure that this is the best Concert Gateway has had. Bring all your Friends. Gateway will be on fire for God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit.... Sunday Night 7.00
