Time

Every day is full of either invested or wasted time. The bible gives us over 400 verses about time, so I think it can be safely assumed God has something to say about time. Managing time is important to God and it is a spiritual discipline. Time is precious to each of us. The things we value get our time. Does God? Get our time.

"Lord Jesus, make my heart sit down". Solitude can be a deliberate choice. Diligently setting aside time to "sit down" at the feet of Jesus. This is how we gain wisdom for the journey, by spending time with our Lord.

Some of us think that women balance their time more efficiently than men, because women do not have wives. Could not resist that one.
In total truth we will all be held accountable to how we choose to spend our time. What we value. The forever, salvation, the salvation of our family.
Who is responsible for that? Some will say that it is an individual choice. I would agree, but staying the course, staying diligently in prayer for our beloved can make the difference between Heaven and Hell. I would put my Mother off with that very thought, it's my choice. How that must have scared her, disappointed her, but she never gave up on me. My salvation was her priority. You could say she budgeted time to pray for me. She also took the time to show me how to walk the walk.
She did not live long enough to see me become a warrior for Christ, but I am sure she can see me now.

To grow mentally, physically, spiritually and socially is our responsibility. This shows how we can budget our time, Jesus did. Luke 2:52 " Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men".
Ecclesiastes 3:1 tells us "there is a time for everything, and a season for ever activity under heaven". We either set our life priorities or allow circumstances and other people to set our agenda. Stick to our priorities, stand firm in the face of change.
Ephesians 5:16 Paul teaches us to "make the most of every opportunity".

One day, we will all stand before the Father and give an account of how
 we invested our time.
Today, I will start to examine different ways to manage my time habits.
Initiate changes that will honor God.
The gift I give is to spend time at his feet.

Lord God, my Father on earth, I recognize the need to spend time alone with you. I will lay down my schedule, my agenda and anything else in my life that would keep me form you. Please forgive me for the ways I waste and squander away the minutes,
hours and days of my life. Give me the power to invest time wisely and the wisdom to live a balanced life. AMEM

Now take 3 minutes of your time to worship the Lord!

Several knew things have been happening at Gateway.
Let's review

It has been a little stuffy in the Sanctuary, the north side air conditioner finally gave out. Monday it was replaced and it is nice and cool.
Thanks to Lewis Air. They did a great job and Carl helped.

The Second Saturday servers had a list of chores. They did a great job. Carl, AB, Eddie, Stan, Loretta and Connie worked to complete every task. A list of items included: Painting the Men's restroom, painting the trim and most every door in the church, changed out air filters, changed light bulbs, put kick panels on the front door, cleaned and straightened the chairs in the sanctuary. This is on top of mowing and trimming the grass. It was a work day in deed. Praise God for our Church.
If you are interested in becoming a part of the Second Saturday Servers,
 please contact Carl Ansley 817-279-2581.

There is no deadline for attending this class.
 You are welcome.

There is still a need for volunteers to man to office. Most work half days. Check with the office or Joyce Minter 817-2523-9362 for the exact days.
